Top green rating for new RMI facility<br />
<br />
the new uC DaVIs wInery, brewery, anD FooD<br />
science facility at the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine<br />
and Food Science is slated for completion in August.<br />
The one-story, 34,000 square-foot building, adjacent to Interstate<br />
80, includes the August A. Busch III Brewing and Food Science<br />
Laboratory and the Teaching and Research Winery. The facility will<br />
be the first LEED Platinum building on campus—platinum being<br />
the highest certification granted by the U.S. Green Building Council.<br />
Donors committed to a green future have helped the<br />
university build facilities that will demonstrate technologies<br />
and methods to save water and energy, make use of recycled<br />
materials, and minimize negative impacts on the environment.<br />
