He<br /> had two sisters, with whom he is still close.<br /> When he finished high school, Thomas became a<br /> welder and began building a good, solid life for<br /> himself. He worked his way up to a job at the<br /> airport. He became a father. Only one thing stood<br /> in the way of his happiness.<br /> “At the age of 21, I started drinking,” Thomas said.<br /> “This increased steadily to drinking every day and<br /> night, even when going to and coming from work.”<br /> Thomas’s addiction to alcohol began to loosen the<br /> rivets that held his life together.
