In 2008, in conjunction with YouGov, we undertook a survey into bloggers’ liabilities. We wanted to try
and gauge awareness levels amongst internet users of their legal rights and responsibilities when posting
comment online, specifically on blogs. The results revealed a widespread lack of clarity, with just 5% of
the internet users we interviewed stating that they were clear about their legal liabilities.
