Volleyball<br />
Penn returns four starters from last year’s team, which tied with<br />
Yale for the Ivy League title but defeated the Bulldogs in a one-<br />
match playoff for the Ivy’s NCAA Championship automatic bid. It<br />
was the Quakers’ second-straight NCAA appearance.<br />
Head Coach Kerry Carr, who enters her 14th season with the<br />
program in 2011, has won five Ivy League titles and had nine<br />
seasons with 15 or more wins during her tenure.<br />
The two women expected to lead the team this season are<br />
juniors Lauren Martin and Amanda Pacheco. Both women were<br />
second-team All-Ivy picks a year ago, and Martin was the 2009<br />
Ivy League Rookie of the Year.<br />
The Quakers must fill some large shoes in 2011, having lost<br />
three first-team All-Ivy players in Megan Tryon, Julia Swanson<br />
