Dear Friend,
I love Houston for many reasons — the culture, the arts, the people.
But most of all, because it is my community . . . my family, my friends, my neighbors.
Recently I was thinking about Jesus’ definition of “neighbor.”
In answer to the question “Who is my neighbor?” — Jesus shared a story about a
traveler who was beaten, left by the side of the road, ignored by others and
rescued by a stranger.
The “good neighbor” was the stranger who “showed mercy.” It is a mission Jesus
commanded for us all.
Through your prayers and generous gifts to Star of Hope, you are being a “good
