Insight into the Human Condition<br />
Students who pursue the humanities at St. Olaf<br />
College study what is peculiarly human: the<br />
qualities, feelings and inclinations that we, and<br />
our forebears throughout the ages, share by<br />
virtue of our human condition. These subjects<br />
have for centuries formed the core of what we<br />
have come to know as the liberal arts, a course<br />
of study that traces its roots as far back as<br />
ancient Greece and Rome. St. Olaf humanities<br />
students acquire knowledge and skills that<br />
transcend the boundaries of time and place,<br />
preparing them for success in whatever career<br />
or path of life they subsequently choose.<br />
