NORWAY: The vision for the futuristic Castor<br />
terminal recently launched by Wallenius<br />
Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) embraces<br />
the company's innovative vision of a more<br />
environmentally sound future for land and<br />
sea logistics operations. The energy used to<br />
handle each unit of cargo within the terminal<br />
complex will be reduced by as much as 80 per<br />
cent.<br />
“We want to extend our zero emissions<br />
ambition from ocean activities to port and<br />
land-based activities,” says Erik Nyheim,<br />
COO, Terminal and Inland Services at WWL.<br />
“Now, our environmental goals will better<br />
cover our factory-to-dealer product scope,<br />
benefitting our customers who are starting to<br />
measure and reduce the carbon footprint in<br />
their entire supply chains.”<br />
