Happy New Year from all of us at the Kennedy<br />
Center! In this time for new beginnings, I<br />
wanted to let you know about a few of our<br />
numerous efforts to re-examine works with fresh<br />
perspectives, support emerging talent, and share<br />
the arts with our community .<br />
Washington National Opera is offering its<br />
first big program of the new year, the American<br />
Opera Initiative Festival, which nurtures young<br />
composers and librettists at the start of their<br />
careers . Four works will make their world<br />
premieres over the course of a single weekend,<br />
January 11–13 .<br />
