Steiner says that the organization has<br />
now expanded into eight countries in<br />
Africa, with programs in 1,200 villages<br />
and 2,000 businesses started. The<br />
organization has touched the lives of<br />
30,000 orphans through its programs,<br />
he adds. He learned about Village Care<br />
International through a coworker who<br />
had done similar work with another<br />
nonprofit.<br />
“I thought it sounded intriguing,” he<br />
says.<br />
Steiner's first trip was in 2008, when<br />
he worked with a small village in Nigeria.<br />
