THE JOHN DEERE
DIFFERENCE
13 | Spring | 2011
2|
John Deere designs and builds its own engines, so it's logical
that we know how to look after them better than anyone else.
The type of oil you use can make a big difference to the per-
formance of your engine and how long it lasts.
Stage III B engines set new demands
Tractors often work at high engine loads but low forward
speeds which causes the oil to get hot. Hot oil can easily oxi-
dise, increasing its viscosity and reducing engine protection
and performance. This is particularly important with the intro-
duction of the new Stage III B engines. These new engines are
equipped with both Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and a Die-
sel Particulate Filter (DPF) to reduce emissions. Components
which can be easily damaged if oil oxidises at high tempera-
ture.
Longer lasting.
