The Summer of 1989 was hot and humid. Too hot to be inside an indoor track facility constructed of metal walls and a<br />
rubberized floor, and with 1,400 football campers between the ages of 14- to 18-years-old. But there we were, Desmond<br />
Howard, myself and another Michigan football player following my 45-minute lecture on the identification and elimination<br />
of “Self-Defeating Attitudes & Behaviors”.<br />
I was mentally tired and physically exhausted that day, with one mission and one mission only – to go home and recover.<br />
