Introducing the Stunning New Terrace Theater!

Many of us have wondered when the
Terrace Theatre will open again to
the public. That time is fast approaching.
The Kennedy Center will officially open
the newly renovated theater with a month-
long celebration beginning October 6.
The Terrace Theater, which was ini-
tially constructed with donations from the
government of Japan in celebration of the
American Independence Bicentennial in
1979, is the last of the Center’s theaters to
be renovated. At a cost of $21.8 million,
the Terrace Theater has been renovated
to update the theater and facilities, and
enhance the overall guest experience.
The theater seats 490 and will host up to
