2016 Annual Report
From The President
As members of the Greater Memphis Chamber, you know that our team is committed to
moving our city forward. Workforce. Small Business. Public Policy. Exports. Pre-K. Supplier
Diversity. Throughout the year, our staff touched so many areas of our city, and many
are showcased in this report.
Allow me to highlight just a few of those successes here:
• Creating jobs and bringing investment to the Greater Memphis region is our number
one priority. In 2016 alone, we helped create and retain 7,365 jobs and attracted
over $1.9 billion of investment for the region. (p. 4)
• Increasing minority & women-owned business receipts is critical for the success of
Memphis and its citizens. Through the Supplier Diversity Collaborative, we put a plan
in place that has begun to change the landscape in Memphis. (p. 12)
