Patients presenting with acute decompensated heart<br />
failure (ADHF) may have left ventricular heart failure<br />
with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) or heart failure<br />
with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Differentiation<br />
between the two is an important initial step in the clinical<br />
management of patients with ADHF because diagnostic<br />
and therapeutic strategies differ for these two groups of<br />
patients. Transthoracic echocardiographic (TTE) imaging<br />
is a class I recommendation in all patients with ADHF,<br />
