WASHINGTON—The Public Company<br />
Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) will<br />
have full regulatory powers over all audi-<br />
tors of broker-dealers, whether public or<br />
private, should new legislation proposed by<br />
Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D – Pennsylvania)<br />
advance into law. The bill, still in draft<br />
form as of this article, was designed as a<br />
direct reaction to the multi-billion dollar<br />
Bernie Madoff scandal, in the interest of<br />
