Message from the Executive Director
For years, transportation groups have called for additional investment in the state's
infrastructure. And last year, Texans sent a clear message for transportation when they
voted to transfer some of the funding from oil and gas production taxes to the state
highway fund.
The $1.74 billion from Proposition 1 — along with funding from other sources — will
advance more than 200 projects around the state, including projects that will add lanes
to overcrowded roads, build interchanges to connect major roadways, add passing lanes
and shoulders to make roads safer and rehab some roads that are much in need of repair.<
