Sociology
Sociologists study the effects of social class, race, gender and power on different aspects of society, including cultural
activities, moral beliefs and the health of individuals and families. Applied sociology students learn to think scientifically about
societies and human behavior, and gain skills leading to a variety of career paths. Above, students from UT’s Sociology Club
donate school supplies to the outreach coordinator of the Guardian Ad Litem Program of Hillsborough County, whose volunteers
serve as advocates for children in the court system.
