PRESIDENT'S · MESSAGE<br />
We have been in Sugar House for<br />
100 years. During that time, a lot<br />
of things have changed. And it does<br />
seem to me that the rate of change<br />
has speeded up. Consider just one<br />
example: home entertainment. In<br />
fewer than 20 years we have moved<br />
from TVs with antennas to TVs with<br />
cables, bulky sets to flat screens,<br />
HDTV to 3-D TV, VHS to DVDs<br />
to TiVo, Blockbuster to Netflix to<br />
streaming video; and now we seem<br />
ready to abolish T V sets altogether<br />
and watch programs and movies on<br />
computers or smart phones.<br />
The educational world is changing<br />
too. We have been forced to<br />
regularly re-evaluate what an<br />
educated person needs to know<br />
in a world where once-immutable<br />
