TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY-KINGSVILLE • SPRING 2012
Don't Just Study
What You Love–Live It!
Message from the president
Being a Javelina means being part of a community. For our students, faculty
and staff, often that involves giving back to the community that surrounds us.
In this issue of Javelina TODAY, we highlight some of the ways we give back
through our research, service learning opportunities and volunteer activities.
For instance, our Communication Sciences and Disorders program provides
both student training and clinical services for the community. Staff members
Frances and Silver Chapa organize the Relay for
Life every year, and this year was bigger and
better than ever. These are just a few of
the stories you'll find and the Javelinas
you'll meet inside this issue.
