Introduction
Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS) is an age-specific
epileptic encephalopathy that represents a response
of the immature brain to a variety of insults.1,2 LGS
has a childhood onset but persists into adulthood, is
often refractory to antiepileptic drugs (AEDs), and
remains one of the most difficult epileptic disorders for
both general and pediatric neurologists to manage.3,4
Symptoms of LGS typically begin before the age
of 8 years, with a peak of occurrences between ages
3 and 5 years, although late-onset cases in early
adulthood have occasionally been reported.4 The
