Lesson 10: Pronoun Agreement<br />
Each pronoun you use should agree with its antecedent, the<br />
word to which the pronoun refers.<br />
Tasha finished her history project early.<br />
[singular antecedent and singular pronoun]<br />
The other students were making their posters.<br />
[plural antecedent and plural pronoun]<br />
When two or more antecedents are joined by and, use a plural<br />
pronoun.<br />
Mrs. O’Hara and Mr. Santos took their classes to the gym.<br />
When two or more singular antecedents are joined by or or nor, use a<br />
singular pronoun.<br />
Either Tasha or Nicole will present her speech first.<br />
Pay attention to agreement in sentences with indefinite pronouns.<br />
