NEW car registrations fell 24.8<br />
per cent in May to 134,858<br />
units, according to figures<br />
released by the Society of<br />
Motor Manufacturers and<br />
Traders (SMMT).<br />
The SMMT said the<br />
scrappage programme was<br />
generating orders but it<br />
would take time for these to<br />
translate into registrations.<br />
