Sociologists study the effects of social class, race, gender and power on different aspects of society, including cultural activities,
moral beliefs and the health of individuals and families. Sociology students learn to think scientifically about societies and human
behavior, and gain skills leading to a variety of career paths. UT offers both general and applied programs in sociology, along with
an optional emphasis in family/aging studies.
