This year we<br /> celebrate the anniversaries of the exquisite and historic laced dinner-services.<br /> 130 years ago, in 1888, a true master of detail, Creative Director Arnold Krog, introduced an<br /> elegant lace border to Royal Copenhagen’s original Pattern No.1, Blue Fluted Plain. Inspired by<br /> the antique open work lace-trimmed Blue Fluted Plain dessert items, Krog designed new patterns<br /> to modernize Royal Copenhagen dinnerware to fit changes in the food and dining culture of the<br /> eighteenth century. He reinterpreted the laced rim and created a hand-painted edge decoration<br /> with scale ornamentation encircling the original pattern.
