The University of Tampa’s dance program prepares<br />
students to become leaders in the field of dance education<br />
in a variety of capacities and settings, including teaching<br />
in private studios and community dance programs serving<br />
diverse populations. Students are also prepared for further<br />
study at the graduate level. Auditions are required, and<br />
scholarships are available.<br />
The B.A. in dance provides a<br />
foundation in dance technique,<br />
pedagogy and choreography.<br />
Courses include various dance<br />
technique disciplines, pedagogy,<br />
improvision, choreography, dance<br />
history, music for dance and<br />
anatomy and kinesiology as part<br />
of a well-balanced liberal arts<br />
curriculum.<br />
A required capstone course<br />
integrates acquired skills and<br />
