The last time Gene Klotz won a Floor of the Year tro-<br />
phy, he said it would be his last—for awhile. “I said, `I<br />
think it's time to give myself a break and allow the<br />
contest to grow,” Klotz says. “It should be encouraging for<br />
others instead of having the same group of faces winning<br />
from the beginning.” Klotz held true to his word, and when<br />
he entered again this year, he found that the number of en-<br />
tries had more than doubled since he last entered in 1997,<br />
something he finds “very encouraging.” Not surprisingly,<br />
however, when Klotz reappeared this year, he hadn't lost<br />
his winning touch.<br />
