It’s now December, with the darkest days of the year, amidst<br />
these tumultuous, uncertain times, we could use some extra<br />
light to warm us, comfort us, and keep at bay the darkness and<br />
fear that can beset us. Chanukah, the Fesival of Lights, begins<br />
on the 25th of Kislev – this year, Sunday eve of December 18th.<br />
Yes, on the 25th of this Hebrew month (long before there was<br />
a December 25th) Chanukah always begins. The 25th word<br />
of the Torah is “light.” “Let there be light.” Rabbi Pinhas<br />
of Koretz, a friend of the Baal Shem Tov, founder of<br />
Hasidism, says that in proclaiming the miracle of<br />
