Introduction<br />
The Energy and Natural Resources (“E&NR”) sector is undergoing<br />
a period of radical change in the UK. The government has<br />
confirmed that it will legislate to adopt a net zero carbon<br />
target for 2050 and businesses expect the target to spur<br />
investment in new energy technologies. With the E&NR sector<br />
increasingly attracting long-term investors in new technologies<br />
and innovative financing products (for example green bonds<br />
and carbon offset credits), we expect to see the emergence<br />
of disputes which reflect this changing landscape and<br />
sector headwinds.<br />
