is confronting multidrug-<br />
resistant tuberculosis, a<br />
disease so daunting that<br />
no single organization<br />
can fight it alone.<br />
With an estimated 400,0001 new cases<br />
each year, multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis<br />
(MDR-TB), caused by interrupted treatment<br />
of regular TB, poses a growing and severe<br />
risk to people’s lives around the world.<br />
The Lilly MDR-Partnership understands<br />
that meaningful changes must occur<br />
in the communities where MDR-TB<br />
patients live and work. That’s why Lilly<br />
has mobilized 18 global partners on five<br />
continents in a public-private partnership<br />
to provide access to medicines, transfer<br />
