ABOUT THE COVER
An Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) photographer,
Chris Rose, snapped this shot of two C-47s during a practice flight
for the Arsenal of Democracy Victory Capital Flyover in 2020. The
C-47s featured are the CAF’s C-47 That’s All, Brother, and C-47
Placid Lassie. Placid Lassie is owned and operated by the Tunison
Foundation. Both aircraft flew missions on D-Day and as part of
Operation Market Garden. Both aircraft returned to Normandy in
2019 for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. They will travel again to
Europe in 2024 for the 80th Anniversary of D-Day and the 75th
