ABOUT THE COVER<br />
An Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) photographer,<br />
Chris Rose, snapped this shot of two C-47s during a practice flight<br />
for the Arsenal of Democracy Victory Capital Flyover in 2020. The<br />
C-47s featured are the CAF’s C-47 That’s All, Brother, and C-47<br />
Placid Lassie. Placid Lassie is owned and operated by the Tunison<br />
Foundation. Both aircraft flew missions on D-Day and as part of<br />
Operation Market Garden. Both aircraft returned to Normandy in<br />
2019 for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. They will travel again to<br />
Europe in 2024 for the 80th Anniversary of D-Day and the 75th<br />
Anniversary of the Berlin Airlift for the D-Day Squadron’s 2024<br />
