Dear Friend,
There were three little boys, the oldest maybe around ten. Their mother
stood by, watching with me as their father proudly led them to the big,
glowing Christmas tree. Beneath its branches, brightly-wrapped presents
were heaped, and Daddy helped his boys find the ones marked just
for them...
I love Christmas at Star of Hope, because it’s filled with moments like
that. It had been a long time since this father, lost in the grip of addiction,
could give his sons anything special. But at our Men’s Development Center on
Family Day last Christmas, he was a new man, a strong Daddy who could look
