A new way to tame the “big data” monster<br />
A hundred years ago farming productiv-<br />
ity was limited by a lack of data. Our great<br />
grandparents had to be good at estimating<br />
soil fertility, crop yields, even field sizes.<br />
Today’s growers may suffer from the oppo-<br />
site problem. Each harvest can generate an<br />
over abundance of data...and USB sticks.<br />
Taking control. To tackle this “big data”<br />
challenge, John Deere recently introduced<br />
the MyJohnDeere Operations Center. The<br />
MyJohnDeere Operations Center is an<br />
easy-to-use website where producers can<br />
safely store all their operation’s data.<br />
